Spring 2021 Womenswear Fashion Trends

Spring 2021 Womenswear Fashion Trends

Fashion is always a sign of the times and echoes the mood of the moment. A year into a pandemic and with everything going on all over the world, it’s interesting to see how all these have reflected in the latest fashion trends for Spring 2021. Get your OOTDs ready cause these are the must wear fashion trends to take you from work from home to out the door as soon as restrictions are lifted and we can all safely socialize.

Hoodies and Sweats

It should come as no surprise that athleisure wear and sports inspired styles are still big this season. After all, many of us are still spending most of our time at home or doing physical activities when outdoors. Stylish sweats, hoodies, and tracksuits, in particular, are still having their big fashion moment. Dress them up or dress them down, pair them with sneakers, flats or even heels. There are endless ways you can wear this relaxed and comfortable trend.

All-White

Perhaps it’s the current focus on everyone’s health and well-being but there’s no clearer manifestation of the heightened concern for cleanliness and sterilization than the all-white looks that dominated fashion runways. From Emporio Armani to Fendi, Burberry to Alexander McQueen, Jacquemus to Theory, there was no mixing whites with colors in loads of layered looks. Even designers known for their penchant for prints and patterns like Emilio Pucci and Thom Browne went for the all-white wardrobe.

Disco, Metallic Look

At the opposite end of the style spectrum from the athleisure trend is the rising trend featuring the party, disco look. Think metallics, silver, sequins and basically, anything shiny, shimmery and sparkling. It can’t be overstated how many of us are just raring to go out, paint the town red and hit the dance floor while we’re at it. Well, fashion designers know that and they already have the clothes ready for when those days finally come. You don’t have to wait though. Slip into something sparkly, feel the disco vibe and dance party in your living room. These days, it’s the only acceptable kind of Saturday Night Fever.

Low Waist Pants

It may be the not so roaring 20s but it’s the big 2000’s trend of ultra low-rise bottoms that are back. Yes, you read that right. Time to keep the high waist trousers and mom style jeans in the closet. This season, it’s all about the hip huggers and no, it’s not just all about low-rise jeans. Trousers in varying silhouettes and fabrics – wide leg, slim fit, flared, cropped, printed silk, and leather, just to name a few – have all gotten the low-rise treatment. The modern look has the style paired with almost anything and everything, including bralettes, suit jackets, vests, leather shirts, long sleeve and tight fitting tops.

Backless

Speaking of trends that are back, going backless is another big trend this Spring season. Whether completely bare, a big cut out, a little peek-a-boo, a crisscross style or a knotted design, showing more than a hint of your back is definitely in style. Deceivingly demure and conservative at the front, serve everyone with a stylish surprise as you walk away. Sexy back has definitely made a comeback.
